Winter is the perfect opportunity for me to catch up on my reading since the farm side of life slows down a bit during the colder Minnesota months. So I thought I'd share with you my winter reading list. Hopefully I'll get to all of them before spring comes and the garden steals all of my attention.
Risen Motherhood by Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler
This book has been on my list for quite a while, and I'm finally now getting to it. It's not quite a devotional, but also not quite a personal development. It's kind of a mix of the two. But this book shows how motherhood reflects the gospel and how to find God's grace in the messy and mundane moments of motherhood.

Truly, Deeply, Madly by Karen Kingsbury
Kingsbury will forever be one of my favorite authors. I've been reading her Baxter family stories since my high school years and the characters feel like part of my extended family. This latest Baxter book has been just as wonderful as the others.

Worthy of Love by Kaelin Scott
I've never read any of Kaelin's books before, but this contemporary romance takes place in a ranch setting which is right up my alley. Count me in! Plus, I'm a sucker for feel good (and clean) romances.

Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
I tend to gravitate toward the same genre over and over again, so I'm forcing myself to think outside the box. Adding murder mysteries to my list is one way to do that this winter. I've seen this movie but don't remember much of it at all, so I think the book will still be exciting and intriguing.

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley
One of my favorite bookstagrammers @britishbookreader read this one recently and since I'm adding murder mystery to my TBR, I thought, "Why not!?" Without knowing much about this one, I've added it to the list and am excited for it.

Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport
Technology is an addictive thing. Between social media, internet, tv streaming, and texting, it's hard not to be bogged down and overwhelmed by screens. I want to read this one for fresh ideas on how to utilize devices without  allowing my day to be controlled by them.

Everybody Writes by Ann Handley
This one is a guide for creating content. As an aspiring author I need to be able to write more than a good book. I need to create social media posts and write on the blog as well as interact with readers and other writers. I'm hoping this book will help me with my voice and feel when creating content versus writing a story.

Your Not Enough (And That's Okay!) by Allie Beth Stuckey
Stuckey breaks down the self-love culture and explains why it is actually harmful to fall into while also showing how Jesus is the only One who is enough and we can find rest and confidence in him. I'm anxious to read this book because I've always felt a little skeptical of the self-love craze, especially when I hear quotes like "You are enough, you just have to dig a little deeper." If I'm enough why do I have to dig deeper? Ok, I'll stop going down that trail for now. I'm just excited to see this different perspective.

Well there you have it. These are the eight books I'm going to read this winter. What books are on your reading list?
